Senior Software Engineer (Enterprise Experience)

Coder is a platform for AI development infrastructure enabling enterprises to securely run human and AI-driven development workflows in governed environments with self-hosted, agent-ready workspaces.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant production experience with Go.
• Deep understanding of Go's concurrency model, including goroutines, channels, the sync package, and debugging race conditions under real-world load.
• Experience designing and operating relational databases in production, including schema design, migrations, and transactions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting skills with persistence to resolve complex problems.
• Self-motivated, analytical engineer who enjoys tackling difficult technical challenges.

Nice to have:

• Experience with infrastructure engineering.
• Experience building or operating distributed systems at meaningful scale.
• Curiosity about the latest developer tooling.

• Design and build new features end to end, from technical design through production rollout.
• Design and implement backend architecture changes supporting long-term scalability goals.
• Investigate and resolve scalability bottlenecks under production-like load.
• Improve database migration safety and upgrade reliability via schema compatibility, background migrations, and rollback strategies.
• Own backend-side issue resolution surfaced by Coder operators and administrators.
• Document design, implementation, and operational tradeoffs of built systems.
• Participate in code reviews, RFC-style design discussions, and on-call rotations.
