Staff Software Engineer in Test

The team is remote-first, with more than 100 people in over 30 countries, combining startup agility with Samsung Electronics' scale.

• 5+ years experience in Software Engineering in Test (SET/SDET) or similar platform-quality engineering roles.
• Experience designing and building scalable test infrastructure, developer tooling, or quality platform capabilities across multiple teams.
• Strong software engineering background with expertise in platform engineering, developer productivity tooling, test infrastructure, or automation frameworks.
• Experience in environments where engineering teams own product quality and automated testing.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD practices, quality gates, release governance, and modern software delivery pipelines.
• Proven ability to define engineering standards, testing contracts, and integration patterns for consistency and scalability.
• Experience designing and implementing testing strategies across distributed systems or large-scale engineering organizations.
• Strong architectural judgment with a pragmatic approach to technical decision-making.
• Ability to influence engineers, technical leads, and leadership without direct authority.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Quality, Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Delivery teams.
• Relevant technical experience with languages such as TypeScript, Kotlin, Java, Python, or Go; testing frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, REST-assured; and platform technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, GCP, AWS.

• Define and lead the technical direction of the quality platform and testing strategy.
• Shape automated testing, CI/CD quality gates, contract validation, and quality intelligence across teams.
• Partner with Head of Quality, Quality Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Platform Engineering teams to embed quality into software design, build, validation, and release.
• Establish quality architecture and validation frameworks for AI-assisted, agentic, and spec-driven development practices.
