Senior Quality Engineer

At Samsung Food (Whisk), the mission is to connect food, health, and home through personalized experiences using AI, nutrition, behavior change, and digital health. The team is remote-first with over 100 people in 30 countries, part of Samsung Electronics, delivering technology that improves daily life across devices like phones, wearables, TVs, and kitchen appliances.

• 5+ years in Quality Engineering or QA within cross-functional teams
• Experience with complex systems such as APIs, distributed systems, or multi-layer applications
• Strong understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Practical experience with test automation integrated into development workflows
• Experience in environments where teams own testing and quality
• Ability to guide test coverage structuring and pragmatic quality decisions
• Experience with CI/CD and continuous delivery
• Strong communication skills to influence engineers and product stakeholders
• Good judgment balancing quality, speed, and risk

Nice to have:

• Experience building or maintaining automated test suites
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools like Playwright, Cypress, REST-assured, Postman
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to test data management, mocking, or service virtualization
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python
• Experience with cloud-based or distributed environments

• Own the quality approach within the squad, defining testing strategy based on risk, complexity, and goals
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering during scoping to ensure testable and well-defined requirements
• Guide engineers in designing and implementing automated tests across layers and integrating testing into workflows
• Define testing patterns, boundaries, and contracts to ensure structured and maintainable automation
• Perform exploratory testing in complex or high-risk areas as needed
• Promote adoption of shared frameworks, CI/CD practices, and quality standards
• Surface quality risks, trade-offs, and coverage gaps to support decisions
• Share practices to raise overall quality maturity across teams
