Head of Engineering

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 12-15 years hands-on software development experience.
• 5+ years leading multiple engineering teams and large-scale technical initiatives.
• Strong background as a Software Engineer with experience designing scalable systems and working in software architecture.
• Strong backend engineering expertise with practical production deployment experience using frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems.
• Experience managing technical debt at scale.
• Ability to lead managers and multiple cross-functional teams in complex environments.
• Experience managing distributed and remote teams across geographies.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies, sprint planning, and technical resource management.
• Proven track record in mentoring and performance management of engineering teams.
• Ability to drive alignment across engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience introducing engineering innovations that improve productivity and operational efficiency.
• Experience in fintech or regulated technology environments, especially high-scale platforms, is a strong plus.
• Interest or exposure to emerging markets and financial inclusion problems is advantageous.

• Contribute to and drive the company-wide technology strategy for scalable and reliable platform growth.
• Own the technical strategy aligning architecture, infrastructure, and delivery with company goals.
• Guide architectural and solution design decisions, removing technical roadblocks.
• Build, lead, and scale multiple engineering teams including managers and senior contributors.
• Strengthen team capacity through mentorship, career development, succession planning, and performance management.
• Drive hiring strategy and organizational design for engineering growth.
• Establish and improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident management for high system availability.
• Improve software reliability with operational excellence practices and incident response.
• Set and uphold engineering standards including code quality, testing, QA automation, documentation, and CI/CD pipeline maturity.
• Manage and reduce technical debt and lead initiatives to improve codebase health.
• Track and optimize engineering metrics such as system performance and team productivity.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure usage and costs maintaining performance and security standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Sales, Marketing, and Business stakeholders to align engineering delivery.
• Ensure secure-by-design systems with strong ownership of data privacy, fraud prevention, and regulatory readiness.
• Maintain long-term technical and architectural roadmaps aligned with industry trends.
• Foster a high-trust, high-performance culture focused on accountability, autonomy, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to company-wide engineering initiatives across financial services and business tooling platforms.
