Principal DevOps Enginer

The role is with j-labs software specialist, focusing on creating a cloud-native platform for iGaming supporting over 1 million users and 100,000 transactions per minute.

• Minimum 10 years experience in DevOps / Platform / Infrastructure Engineering.
• At least 3 years at Staff or Principal level.
• Strong expertise in AWS and designing large-scale production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building infrastructure and platforms from scratch.
• Knowledge of AWS multi-account architecture.
• Deep understanding of VPC, networking, and IAM in large environments.
• Experience with EC2, RDS / Aurora, Route 53, and other AWS services.
• Practical knowledge of GitOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing High Availability, autoscaling, Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions.
• Familiarity with observability tools and practices.
• Experience with high-load, high-traffic production systems.
• Knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language: Python, Go, or Bash.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness for hands-on work involving design and implementation, including coding Infrastructure as Code.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kafka.
• AWS Professional certifications.
• Experience in iGaming and FinTech sectors.

• Design and build the entire AWS infrastructure from the ground up, including cloud foundation and multi-account architecture.
• Design and implement Amazon EKS and Kubernetes environments.
• Design networking components including VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, and IAM.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Build and enhance GitOps and CI/CD processes.
• Design solutions for High Availability, autoscaling, Backup, and Disaster Recovery including multi-AZ and multi-region strategies.
• Establish observability platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and CloudWatch.
• Define DevOps and platform engineering standards for upcoming teams.
• Set and monitor SLOs and error budgets to ensure production readiness.
• Participate in incident response, create runbooks, and conduct blameless postmortems.
• Collaborate on load and chaos testing.
• Support platform scaling, infrastructure optimization, and migration support in later project phases.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Backend, Security, and AI Platform teams.
