IT Automation Tester (Java)

The role supports the development and maintenance of automated tests for Master Data Management solutions in a banking industry client company, focusing on SOAP and REST API testing, database testing, integration testing, and backend/data distribution automation.

• 6+ years of proven experience in automated software testing, preferably in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of QA methodology, including test planning, design, execution, defect management, regression testing, and continuous quality improvement.
• Experience in test automation design, development, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Java 17+, object-oriented programming, Clean Code principles, and POJO-based design patterns for readable and maintainable test code.
• Practical experience with RESTAssured, JUnit 5, and Lombok.
• Solid understanding of REST architecture and SOAP/WSDL contracts, with the ability to design tests validating both.
• Experience with API testing for REST and SOAP APIs, integration flows, backend services, and data distribution.
• Experience with test reporting tools, especially Allure.
• Good SQL skills and experience in database testing.
• Experience testing integration solutions including asynchronous flows, Kafka, data pipelines, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools like qTest and Jira.
• Strong Git skills including branching strategies, pull request workflows, code review, and conflict resolution.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins and/or Bamboo.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in UI testing with Selenium and Playwright (nice to have).
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies including Scrum ceremonies and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to contribute to Automation First approach.
• Experience preparing and maintaining test evidence, automation reporting, and test coverage documentation.
• Ability to mentor or support less experienced team members.

• Design and implement automated tests for APIs, integration processes, and data flows.
• Develop and maintain existing test automation frameworks.
• Create regression tests and integrate them with CI/CD processes.
• Support the implementation of the “Automation First” approach.
• Cooperate with developers, analysts, Product Owners, and other MDM ART teams.
• Support automation of both new features and existing products.
• Analyse test results and prepare test evidence.
• Use AI and GitHub Copilot to improve test automation efficiency.
• Mentor less experienced team members in test automation.
