Data Scientist

The FCU Technology team at PwC Polska includes over 100 IT specialists providing technological solutions, data analytics and consulting services for global PwC clients in the financial services industry, specifically addressing Anti Financial Crime challenges.

• Minimum 1 year experience in Data Science or Research & Development
• University degree, preferably in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
• Proficient in Python programming language
• Familiarity with data science and machine learning packages such as pandas, polars, scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch, LightGBM
• Knowledge of generative AI concepts including prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Creative and critical thinking skills
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn about multiple business processes and disciplines

Nice to have:

• Knowledge and experience with relational databases including SQL and data warehouses
• Ability to create simple proof of concept applications in Python using Streamlit, Poetry
• Interest in solving business challenges with data and AI
• Experience with generative AI-based tools like LangChain, LangGraph, Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI or similar
• Experience in MLOps/DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, REST API, CI/CD, Linux
• Experience with cloud solutions like Azure, AWS, or GCP

• Be part of the Data Science (R&D) Team and handle data lifecycle including research, exploration, preprocessing, development, integration and implementation
• Engage in brainstorming sessions and develop prototypes or proofs of concept using data science methods for FinCrime challenges
• Collaborate with other departments and clients to understand processes and deliver tailored solutions
• Create automation solutions based on AI agents, generative AI models, and machine learning techniques
• Contribute technically to Data Science product development, including backend, data pipelines, sales perspectives and solution architectures
• Support junior and mid-level team members through mentoring and technical assistance
• Participate in training, certifications, and conferences, including opportunities to speak
• Work in an Agile environment alongside backend/frontend/low-code developers, DevOps, and business analysts
