Infrastructure Engineer

Adzuna is a job search engine that lists every job, everywhere. Launched in 2011, it helps over 10 million visitors a month in 19 markets find jobs. The company builds AI-powered tools such as ValueMyCV, Prepper, and ApplyIQ to assist job seekers and operates from its HQ in West London alongside remote teams.

• Minimum 5 years experience as an Infrastructure, DevOps, Platform, or SRE Engineer.
• Strong focus on consistency and simplicity.
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate efficiently with a distributed team.
• Solid working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python and Bash, and CI/CD tooling for automation.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security best practices, and identity management (IAM).
• Ability to architect complex systems and collaborate effectively with platform engineers.
• Habit of thorough documentation for maintainability.
• Commercial and ROI-focused mindset.

Nice to have:

• Experience building and configuring machine images with Packer and Chef.
• Running workloads on EKS, ArgoCD, including debugging.
• Configuration and debugging of Nginx, Apache, or Varnish under production traffic.
• Administration of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Elasticsearch in production.
• Understanding of email deliverability drivers.
• Experience optimizing cloud costs.
• Experience handling service outages and implementing preventive technical or organizational changes.
• Experience using agentic AI for infrastructure-as-code or software development.

• Bridge cloud infrastructure and business needs, translating requirements into technical solutions and identifying potential roadblocks.
• Write Terraform to manage AWS resources.
• Automate tasks by writing code to eliminate manual work and extend existing services with plugins.
• Own deployment, scaling, and daily management of Kubernetes clusters using ArgoCD and Helm.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for microservices deployment.
• Build monitoring and logging for new services leveraging Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and AWS CloudWatch.
• Ensure high uptime and optimize cloud costs.
• Partner with the engineering team to accelerate development on the primary stack and retire legacy systems.
• Maintain consistency and prefer clean, simple technical solutions.
