Business Analyst with MES

Avenga is recruiting a Senior Business Analyst (Manufacturing) to support Pharma Global Technical Operations with their Enterprise Recipe Management initiative. The role involves collaboration across MES, LIMS, ERP, and PLM systems to improve manufacturing processes within a pharmaceutical or Life Sciences environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-10 years of experience as Functional Architect and/or Business Analyst/Consultant in pharmaceutical or Life Sciences environments.
• Hands-on understanding in product recipe design and parameter definition (MES).
• Proven experience in system integration projects with technologies such as DeltaV, SAP S4 HANA, ELN, MES, ERP, LIMS, PLM.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate business needs into structured functional and non-functional requirements.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work collaboratively in global cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for drug substances and/or drug products.
• Availability between 3–7 PM CET for collaboration with EU and US teams.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with ISA-95 / ISA-88 principles and enterprise-level integration concepts.
• Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies.
• Previous experience at Roche or similarly regulated environments.
• Strong grasp of data interoperability, reporting standards, and business process mapping.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases, relational data structures, and reporting systems.

• Interview business stakeholders, partner system responsibles, and domain leads to identify business opportunities and pre-assess their value, size, and dependency.
• Design and document business process flows and user stories related to Emerson PKM, integrations across MES, LIMS, ERP, and PLM systems, ensuring GxP compliance and data interoperability.
• Create functional specifications, architecture decision records, and technical documentation for PKM configurations, integration solutions, and reporting requirements.
• Facilitate alignment between business stakeholders and technical teams regarding business process and data flows, system capabilities, and architectural design.
• Identify relevant Generative AI/ML use cases within the manufacturing context and support their implementation.

Availability during 3–7 PM CET (“golden hours”) is required to facilitate collaboration between EU and US teams. Candidates must be fluent in English. No explicit statement about hiring Ukrainians or remote interview eligibility is provided.
