ServiceNow Discovery Engineer

AgileEngine is an Inc. 5000 company that creates software for Fortune 500 brands and startups across 17+ industries, specializing in application development and AI/ML.

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, including MID Servers, Discovery Patterns/Probes, credentials, schedules, ECC Queue, and troubleshooting failures.
• Experience developing or modifying ServiceNow Discovery Patterns and Probes and understanding infrastructure attribute discovery.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB/CSDM, Configuration Items, identification/reconciliation, relationships, and CMDB data quality.
• Experience with observability technologies such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency.

Nice to have:

• Advanced Python development and REST API design experience, including building APIs, data-processing pipelines, integrations, and automation.
• Strong experience with software development and SDLC tools including Git/GitHub, Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD platforms, artifact repositories, automated testing, code quality/security scanning, release management, and deployment automation.
• Practical experience integrating Gen AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) and understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Vector databases.
• Knowledge of infrastructure engineering with Linux, Windows Server, virtualization/cloud infrastructure, authentication, processes/services, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, ports, SSH, WMI/WinRM, SNMP, HTTP/S, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience working with large volumes of logs, metrics, errors, and operational datasets to identify patterns and root causes for engineering improvements.

• Design and build AI agents that analyze Discovery logs, execution results, errors, and failed discoveries at scale.
• Develop agents to classify and correlate failures, perform troubleshooting, identify root causes, and recommend corrections.
• Build capabilities for agents to generate corrections to ServiceNow Discovery probes and patterns with testing and human approval.
• Convert operational knowledge and troubleshooting procedures into reusable workflows to reduce manual investigation.
• Design AI agents to continuously assess the health and performance of ServiceNow Discovery ecosystem components.
• Develop agents to collect and interpret metrics and telemetry from ServiceNow Discovery, MID Servers, and monitoring platforms.
