Junior Character Artist

Anshar Studios is a video game studio in Katowice employing over 180 specialists. The studio works on international AAA and AA projects.

• Some experience in character or asset creation for real-time projects through professional, internship, education, or personal projects.
• Skills in sculpting and modeling characters (organic and hard-surface) using ZBrush, Blender, Maya, or similar tools.
• Solid organic modeling and UV mapping skills.
• Basic PBR texturing experience with Substance Painter or Photoshop.
• English language proficiency (A2/B1).

Nice to have:

• Experience with Marvelous Designer and garment creation.
• Advanced hard-surface modeling skills.
• Advanced knowledge of ZBrush, Blender, or Substance Painter.
• Knowledge of rigging and its role in character development pipelines.
• Experience with cloth simulation tools in game engines like Unreal Engine.
• Experience creating fantasy or stylized characters and costumes.
• Formal art education.
• Previous experience in game development or postproduction projects or relevant hobbies.

• Create 3D characters, character parts, props, and accessories respecting project style and quality standards with support from senior artists.
• Model and sculpt organic assets and hard-surface props using ZBrush and Blender.
• Prepare and optimize characters for real-time engines including retopology, UV mapping, baking, texturing, and cleanup.
• Implement and test character assets in Unreal Engine, ensuring proper integration with rigs and in-game functionality.
• Create PBR textures using Substance Painter or similar tools.
• Collaborate with concept artists, animators, and Art Director for cohesive character design.
• Support production with documentation, asset cleanup, and backups.
