Senior Java Engineer (remote)

Ework Group is hiring for a senior Java engineer role focusing on backend development in a financial domain involving production-critical environments.

• Strong experience with Java 11/17+
• Proficient in Spring Boot / Spring Framework
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices architectures
• Knowledge of JPA/Hibernate ORM frameworks
• Proficient with Maven or Gradle build tools
• Experience with REST and SOAP integrations
• Familiarity with Kafka or similar messaging platforms
• Understanding of event-driven architecture
• Skilled in Oracle Database and strong SQL skills
• Experience working with distributed, highly available systems
• Experience in production-critical financial environments
• Agile/Scrum experience
• Fluent in English

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java 11/17+ and Spring Boot
• Design and implement REST APIs and SOAP integrations
• Work with microservices and event-driven architecture using Kafka
• Utilize JPA/Hibernate for database interactions with Oracle Database
• Build and maintain distributed, highly available production-critical financial systems
• Participate in Agile/Scrum processes

Nice to have:

• Experience with core banking platforms such as FLEXCUBE, Temenos, Finacle, Mambu, Thought Machine, or similar
• Work with Kubernetes / OpenShift
• Use cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and use Git
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design
• Familiarity with ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, PSD2/Open Banking
• Experience with core banking migration or transformation projects
