QA Lead

CD PROJEKT RED is a company focused on creating revolutionary, story-driven RPGs. The role is within the Hadar project in the QA department.

• 5+ years experience leading and managing QA teams, preferably in AAA environments.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, coverage, QA practices, and quality reporting.
• Experience with game engines, especially Unreal Engine.
• Understanding of game development lifecycles and testing strategies including integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical features.
• Experience with performance analysis, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for presenting quality status, risks, blockers, priorities, and recommendations.
• Experience working with external QA vendors, distributed QA teams, or cross-location development teams.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to work under pressure, ambiguity, and changing priorities.

Nice to have:

• Experience with User Experience Research (UXR), focus groups, usability testing, and player feedback.
• Experience with automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, CI/CD pipelines, or technical validation workflows.

• Build and shape a high-performing QA team, including recruitment, onboarding, and skills development.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team fostering accountability and continuous skill growth.
• Adapt and implement QA strategy into testing approaches, measurable outcomes, and team priorities.
• Own testing execution and milestone verification to ensure quality standards.
• Monitor quality metrics and bug trends, identifying risks and creating mitigation plans.
• Partner with development, production, and external QA vendors for coordination and alignment.
• Participate in hands-on exploratory, feature, and regression testing to maintain product knowledge.
• Maintain data-informed reporting on quality status, blockers, and project readiness.
• Drive continuous improvements in QA workflows, tools, testing frameworks, documentation, and team effectiveness.
• Assist with complex investigations, issue analysis, and debugging workflows when required.
