Senior Software Engineer (Python / React) - Switzerland - On-site

People More is a company working on projects for clients both locally and internationally, building software from scratch or supporting partners' solutions. The team handles various technologies including UX, UI, frontend, backend, and mobile development. The role is part of a project with a partner based in Switzerland, involving collaboration between local and Central IT teams across countries.

• Experience in developing and maintaining production software systems.
• Very good knowledge of modern, typed Python.
• Experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, or similar technologies.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL including query optimisation, indexing, execution plan analysis, database schema design, and working with large datasets.
• Experience with Docker and multi-service environments.
• Practical knowledge of React and JavaScript.
• Ability to analyse existing solutions for quality, performance, and architecture.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex business processes and data flows.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to professionally challenge technical decisions and propose better solutions.
• Independence, ownership, and willingness to lead solutions from analysis through implementation and deployment.
• Experience in the Trading Industry.
• Very good English and Polish language skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience in energy, commodity trading, or financial markets.
• Knowledge of power, gas, emissions, forward curves, positions, P&L, valuation, or risk.
• Experience with pandas, NumPy, PyArrow, Dagster, or Jupyter.
• Knowledge of Rust, C++, C#, or F# in performance-sensitive solutions.
• Experience working at the intersection of local business needs and centralized corporate IT structures.
• Additional experience in the trading industry.

• Developing and maintaining backend services, frontend applications, and data pipelines.
• Building backend solutions in Python using FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy.
• Analyzing and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases, including queries, indexes, and execution plans.
• Supporting frontend applications developed with React and JavaScript.
• Developing and maintaining processes supplying the platform with market data.
• Supporting quantitative models used for valuation, risk management, and market analysis.
• Reviewing solutions delivered by the Central IT team, identifying technical, performance, and architectural issues.
• Providing professional and constructive technical feedback.
• Acting as a technical link between the local office in Switzerland and the Central IT team in Greece.
• Translating the needs of traders and analysts into practical technical solutions.
• Supporting Docker-based deployments and multi-service environments.
• Combining locally developed business tools with corporate solutions, standards, and platforms.
