Senior Backend Product Engineer - Go and/or JVM (all genders)

• Hands-on experience working with AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) beyond casual experimentation.
• Strong fluency in Go or a JVM language (Java, Kotlin).
• Experience building distributed systems in production with event-driven and asynchronous flows.
• Ability to design clear service contracts and design for partial failure.
• Operating and observing built systems including data layers.
• Solid experience building, deploying, and operating critical backend services in production.
• Technical comfort with distributed systems, messaging queues, containerization, and modern deployment infrastructure.
• Strong software engineering instincts including practical application of design methodologies like TDD, BDD, or DDD.
• Excellent communication skills to operate in an international, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Strong ownership mentality with a bias to ship and finish tasks.
• Product sense with the ability to support opinions with data and user evidence.

• Maintain accountability for the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operation of microservices under a full DevOps model.
• Take technical lead on backend-heavy product problems, designing and operating reliable services at scale.
• Build event-driven systems using messaging technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and AWS SQS/SNS.
• Expose data via clean REST and gRPC interfaces.
• Work extensively with Docker, container orchestration via Kubernetes, and CI/CD automated deployment pipelines.
• Maintain a strong commitment to testing, executing robust test suites from unit to full end-to-end coverage.
• Collaborate closely within cross-functional agile teams including product leads, frontend engineers, designers, and data teams.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members, participating in code and architecture reviews.
• Leverage modern AI tools and workflows (such as Claude, Cursor) to increase productivity.
• Operate what you build by instrumenting, monitoring, and improving systems in production.
