Senior Software Engineer (Platform Control Automation)

• Understand Technology Platforms including Internal Developer Platforms and Hosting Platforms, both internal and cloud.
• Experience in senior leadership, leading global teams across diverse geographic locations and time zones, including maturing offshore engineering teams.
• Engineering skills in multiple programming languages (polyglot), database and schemas, API development, and basic understanding of Linux and web technologies.
• Experience deploying within HSBC is helpful but not essential.
• Experience in iterative technology delivery, delivering value in small iterations.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proven fast learner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with extensive leadership and senior stakeholder management experience.
• Proficiency in English at a business communication level.
• Reporting and presenting skills with ability to analyse and present recruitment data clearly.
• Innovative thinking, able to challenge conventional approaches and create new ways of working in a dynamic environment.

• Lead analytical activities to understand the scope of controls and how Platform services can fulfill them for tenants to automate controls.
• Lead the engineering team building automation services, workflows, and integrations to automate controls at scale.
• Develop APIs, data schemas, and process flows with strong software engineering skills.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop solutions to automate controls.
• Lead operational, delivery, and engineering excellence in developing the Platform Control Plane.
• Drive continuous improvement to mature the organization and improve productivity, focusing on automation, process improvement, and reuse.
• Collaborate across functional areas to define, prioritize, and implement innovations improving controls for Tenants of Engineering Platforms.
