Engineering Manager, Hardware Compute

• 5+ years of experience in hardware, infrastructure, systems, networking, or platform engineering in data centre, cloud, or HPC environments.
• 2+ years of direct people management experience including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Proven track record of growing or scaling teams and effective onboarding.
• Strong technical depth in server hardware, firmware/BMC technologies, Linux systems, hardware automation, GPU infrastructure, or HPC networking.
• Experience leading operational or engineering teams responsible for live production infrastructure at scale.
• Strong project and execution management skills with effective process building.
• Ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, operations, support, supply chain, and data centre functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical stakeholder updates.

Preferred:

• Experience building new engineering teams or expanding teams into new geographies.
• Managing distributed or multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with server fleet operations, hardware qualification, firmware lifecycle management, and production incident response.
• Familiarity with BMC technologies and management interfaces such as Redfish or IPMI.
• Scripting and automation experience with Python, Go, Bash, Ansible, or similar tooling.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-based services, observability systems, and distributed production environments.
• Experience with GPU platforms, NVLink, NVSwitch, InfiniBand, or other high-bandwidth/low-latency interconnect technologies.

• Manage day-to-day workloads, sprint planning, and project execution across METAL, METALDEV, and METALNET domains.
• Build, staff, and scale a multi-disciplinary engineering organization.
• Collaborate closely with North American engineering leaders to align teams with global technical roadmaps.
• Partner with recruiting to attract top-tier talent.
• Foster an engineering culture centered on ownership, accountability, and operational excellence.
