Senior Software Engineer, Network Development

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in production infrastructure, platform, or backend systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Go.
• Solid experience with CI/CD including testing, code review, and maintaining continuous builds and deployments.
• Strong understanding of managing runtime health for enterprise-level services and applications.
• Hands-on experience in process automation and toil elimination, including workflow automation or orchestration systems and automated device provisioning such as Zero Touch Provisioning.
• Strong planning skills for managing multi-month projects and concurrent efforts.
• Well-reasoned technical opinions with openness to others' input.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including IP addressing and subnetting, routing/switching, NTP, and DNS.
• Experience with Linux, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation tooling like Ansible and Jinja, source-of-truth or IPAM/DCIM systems like NetBox, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Excellent written communication, documentation skills, and experience mentoring engineers.

• Own the design, development, and long-term health of platforms and services automating the network, including config generation, device provisioning, workflow automation, observability tooling, internal CLIs, and APIs.
• Plan and map complex projects in advance, managing dependencies and parallel efforts.
• Lead technical direction through RFCs, design reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Write well-tested, well-documented software in Python and Go.
• Define service-level indicators and objectives to improve reliability and reduce manual toil.
• Collaborate closely with Network Engineering, Observability, Fleet Engineering, and HPC teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation and manage blameless incident follow-up.
• Mentor engineers, review code and designs, and help grow technical skills.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team and organizational culture.
