Staff Software Engineer, Cluster Orch (SUNK)

CoreWeave is an AI-focused cloud platform company established in 2017 and publicly traded since March 2025. The company builds and operates infrastructure for AI training and inference, delivering Kubernetes-native orchestration technology, including SUNK (Slurm on Kubernetes). The role is based in Warsaw, Poland and belongs to the AI/ML Platform Services team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years software engineering experience designing, operating, and scaling large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Advanced software development proficiency in Go.
• Strong distributed systems design principles.
• Deep technical expertise in Kubernetes internals, Slurm schedulers, or cloud-native development.
• Experience setting technical direction and influencing cross-team architecture.
• Proven ability to mentor senior engineers and review complex technical designs.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with orchestration, workflow, and mesh technologies such as Ray, Kubeflow, Kueue, Istio, Knative, or Argo Workflows.
• Experience with distributed workloads, GPU-based cloud applications, or machine learning pipelines.
• Knowledge of advanced scheduling concepts including quota enforcement, resource pre-emption, and intelligent scaling.
• Exposure to enterprise reliability practices such as defining SLOs, telemetry monitoring, and leading post-incident reviews.
• Direct experience with large-scale AI infrastructure workloads (ML training, inference, HPC).

• Define technical direction and own critical components of orchestration layers and managed services.
• Drive major cross-organizational initiatives related to scheduling, multi-tenant quota enforcement, and hyperscale scaling.
• Establish organization-wide best practices for platform reliability and observability.
• Resolve complex distributed bottlenecks under intense demand.
• Mentor senior engineers across teams to elevate technical standards.
