Senior Network Engineer

ISS Tech Team creates smarter workplace experiences through technology for ISS A/S operations in Cleaning, Workplace, Food, and Technical Services. The Global Technology Solutions team develops digital solutions including sensors, IoT devices, data analytics, and AI-driven capabilities across more than 30 countries, with tech hubs in Copenhagen, Warsaw, and Porto.

• Strong hands-on experience in network engineering within complex enterprise or global network environments.
• Solid experience with next-generation firewalls, especially Palo Alto Networks.
• Practical experience with Cisco Meraki and UniFi network components.
• Strong Azure networking skills, including hybrid network and cloud connectivity.
• Strong knowledge of VPN technologies including site-to-site and remote access VPN.
• Solid experience with IPsec-based connectivity.
• Understanding of routing concepts including static, dynamic routing, and practical experience with BGP.
• Good understanding of network security principles and secure network design.
• Experience troubleshooting LAN, WAN, firewall, VPN, routing, and Azure connectivity issues.
• Ability to work in English within an international team.

Nice to have:

• Experience with network monitoring tools, ideally Checkmk.
• Basic Linux knowledge and comfort with command-line environments.
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Azure Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Basic scripting or programming skills, especially with Python or PowerShell.
• Experience with Azure automation including Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or automated deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with automating network operations, configuration, infrastructure deployments, and reporting.
• Experience with infrastructure documentation, IP address management, or source-of-truth concepts.
• Experience working with APIs and integrating tools or systems.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and version control tools such as Git.
• Experience in globally distributed IT environments.
• Relevant network, security, automation, or cloud certifications are an advantage.

• Design, operate, maintain, and improve global network and cloud connectivity infrastructure.
• Support and manage network environments using Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, UniFi, and Microsoft Azure networking.
• Troubleshoot complex LAN, WAN, firewall, VPN, routing, and Azure networking issues.
• Contribute to global network and cloud projects including standardization, lifecycle management, migrations, and rollouts.
• Support secure connectivity between on-premises environments and Microsoft Azure, including VPN and routing configurations.
• Develop and implement network automation for efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with international IT, cloud, security teams, service providers, and local stakeholders.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of business-critical network services.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, network standards, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex network, firewall, VPN, and Azure connectivity issues.
• Identify improvements for network operations, monitoring, automation, and service quality.
