Engineering Manager | NordLayer

NordLayer is a cybersecurity company providing a toggle-ready platform trusted by over 11,000 global companies to protect users across borders. The role is within the Engineering team based in Warsaw, Poland.

• At least 2 years of experience leading a team of software engineers.
• Solid software development background.
• Experience or willingness to understand networking domain complexities intersecting backend development and networking, with understanding of system logic without the requirement to write code.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Openness to collaborate and mentor team members, sharing practical knowledge and trends.
• Team-spirited, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Take ownership of design, development, deployment, and operations of the solutions/features developed by the squad engineers.
• Enable the team by setting clear direction and expectations and proactively removing roadblocks.
• Lead and grow an Engineering squad of 8 to 10 specialists including mentoring, performance evaluation, and personal development.
• Lead sprint planning and track squad velocity to meet product milestones.
• Develop and execute plans based on agile development methodologies.
• Collaborate with other cross-functional squads.
• Discuss business solutions with stakeholders and engineers, propose alternatives or validate existing solutions.
• Contribute to new talent hiring and manage the full employee lifecycle (hiring, onboarding, growth, offboarding).
