Java Developer – IoT

They are working with a global water technology company focused on solving water and infrastructure challenges through innovative technology and digital solutions.

• Strong commercial experience in backend software development using Java 21+
• Very good knowledge of the Java ecosystem and modern development practices
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and building production-grade backend applications
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and distributed services
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Strong experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing
• Understanding of software security principles, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation
• Hands-on DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated application deployments
• Practical experience with Docker and containerized applications
• Experience working with Kubernetes
• Practical knowledge of cloud environments and cloud-native application development
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated infrastructure provisioning
• Good understanding of Git workflows, code reviews, and pull requests
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across application, infrastructure, and deployment layers
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a distributed engineering team
• Good command of English, both spoken and written

Nice to have:

• Experience with data processing and ETL pipelines including batch and stream processing
• Experience working with Apache Iceberg tables
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow
• Experience with dbt
• Practical programming experience with Python
• Experience using Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools
• Experience with large-scale data platforms or data-intensive applications
• Experience in environments where reliability, security, and maintainability are critical

• Contribute to refinement sessions by proposing technical designs and defining acceptance criteria for new features
• Design and develop features meeting functional, technical, and quality requirements
• Estimate development workload and contribute to delivery planning for sprints
• Take ownership of unit and integration test suites ensuring code coverage
• Review and remediate security vulnerabilities in source code and dependencies
• Collaborate closely with Scrum team, participating in ceremonies, technical discussions, and code reviews
• Support application releases and deployments across environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve support cases and production issues
• Contribute to technical decisions, code quality improvements, and architecture evolution
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure in delivery process
