Principal Product Manager, Telemetry Collection - Observability

Elastic is a company that provides a Search AI Platform used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, focusing on delivering cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability. The Observability team develops solutions for application developers and engineers to monitor infrastructure and services, including products like APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, Logs, and Uptime. The role involves working on Elastic's telemetry collectors and management capabilities such as Fleet Server, Elastic Agent, Elastic Distribution of OpenTelemetry (EDOT), Filebeat, Beats, and Logstash.

• Minimum five years in Product Management focused on enterprise infrastructure observability, telemetry collection, or agent frameworks.
• Deep technical familiarity with telemetry collectors and agent ecosystems such as OpenTelemetry Collector, Elastic Agent, Filebeat/Beats, and Logstash.
• Proven experience in defining requirements for remote agent management, fleet control planes, or distributed edge collection systems.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes operators, Helm Charts, and cloud-native orchestration and release management.
• Background in IT Ops, DevOps, SRE, or customer-facing solution architecture/consulting.
• Expertise in OpenTelemetry standards, architectures, receivers, and exporters.
• Experience collaborating with open-source communities balancing upstream contributions and enterprise needs.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical architectures into business goals.
• Familiarity with modern AI productivity tools and emerging AI technology stacks.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed global team.
• Strong familiarity with the Elastic Stack including Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, and Beats.

• Define product vision, go-to-market strategy, and roadmap for Elastic Agent framework, Fleet Server/Service, and telemetry collectors.
• Define and track KPIs related to agent deployment success, pipeline efficiency, and adoption of OpenTelemetry distributions.
• Oversee packaging, testing, and distribution of Elastic Agent and associated distributions.
• Drive remote management capabilities ensuring smooth deployment, configuration, and control at scale.
• Lead Kubernetes operators and Helm Charts management and release strategy for cloud-native deployments.
• Advance OpenTelemetry as a primary data shipper by guiding development of receivers and exporters.
• Manage Filebeat and maintenance of the Beats repository.
• Lead product initiatives for Logstash focusing on supportability, performance, and enhancements.
• Collaborate with engineering, UX, and product marketing to deliver central management and collector experiences.
• Act as spokesperson for Elastic’s agent framework and collector ecosystem at internal and external events.
