Network Security Engineer / Advisor

We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer for a consulting project with a client from the automotive industry. The role is purely analytical and advisory, focused on architecture assessment, risk analysis, and technology consulting without daily operational support. The project aims to evaluate the current network security status and define a strategic development direction, especially regarding investment in NDR (Network Detection & Response) solutions compared to alternatives like Zero Trust, SASE, and cloud solutions.

• Strong professional background in network security architecture and conducting security assessments.
• Practical knowledge of NDR solutions, network monitoring, threat detection, modern cybersecurity frameworks, and cloud and corporate environments.
• Experience in client-facing consulting roles, evaluating business products, and translating security requirements into practical technical recommendations.
• Fluent English language skills, both spoken and written, with the ability to present results to executive management and stakeholders.

• Analyze existing infrastructure and control mechanisms including IDS, SIEM, EDR, ITDR, firewalls, OT segmentation, SD-WAN, and cloud environments.
• Evaluate the strategic role of NDR in the target architecture and analyze alternative approaches like Zero Trust, SSE/SASE, and CASB.
• Perform market analysis and vendor shortlisting by assessing functionality, cost, scalability, and preparing a shortlist of recommended solutions.
• Develop operational models including internal, external (Managed Services), and hybrid models with defined roles.
• Provide decision support and roadmap development, including phased implementation plans and investment recommendations for management.
• Optionally support the Proof of Concept phase by defining selection criteria and test scenarios and supervising technical execution.
