Senior Data Engineer (Azure / Snowflake / DevOps)

• Senior-level data engineering experience with strong Python and SQL, data modeling, and a modern orchestrator (Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster)
• Solid hands-on Azure experience including data services, storage, compute, networking, and identity
• Production experience with Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse
• DevOps skills applied to data platforms including Docker, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar), monitoring and alerting
• AI-native workflow using tools like Claude and Cursor
• Flexibility to work beyond core data engineering including occasional backend or frontend
• Self-directed and able to manage ambiguous requirements and deliver solutions
• Fluent English with clear communication to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

• Cloud migration experience between clouds or platforms
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated environments
• MLOps exposure including model training infrastructure and scheduled scoring
• Reading-level familiarity with Java and JavaScript/React codebases
• Experience stabilizing legacy systems built by others

• Design, build, and operate data pipelines in Airflow (or similar) across Azure and Snowflake, replacing a legacy ETL platform
• Productionize ML and scoring workflows from Jupyter notebooks into reliable, scheduled pipelines with seasonal retraining
• Ingest and manage third-party sports data feeds and internal application databases
• Build and maintain reporting outputs for insurance carriers and partners
• Own DevOps for the data platform including Azure infrastructure, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring, secrets, and access management
• Support AWS-to-Azure migration and optimize infrastructure costs
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders and external vendor teams across multiple parallel workstreams asynchronously
