Drone Engineer - software

Swarmer develops software that makes drones autonomous and allows them to operate together in large, coordinated teams without pilots. The technology has been battle-tested in Ukraine and the company went public on NASDAQ in March 2026 after a $15M Series A investment, marking the largest investment in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the war started.

• Solid knowledge of UAV components and systems
• Strong soldering skills and hands-on experience with electronic components
• Familiarity with UAV firmware and tools such as Betaflight, ArduPilot, Mission Planner, and QGroundControl
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
• Working knowledge of Linux, including terminal use, SSH, and basic commands
• Understanding of complex IT systems with multilayer communication
• English language skills at B1 level or higher

Nice to have:

• Proven experience assembling, configuring, and maintaining UAVs (FPV, commercial, or military)
• Experience with 3D printing and custom detail design
• Basic programming skills in Python, Bash, or C++

• Perform visual and technical quality control of UAV assembly and electronic component integration after production or repair, including third-party UAVs
• Install, flash, and configure firmware and software on the flight controller and additional UAV modules
• Conduct comprehensive testing including initial activation, bench tests, and initial test flights to verify UAV operation and configuration
• Configure and verify connectivity between drones and flight planning systems or ground control stations
• Diagnose and resolve faults at software and component-integration levels; perform scheduled maintenance on UAVs and related equipment
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including setup instructions, test reports, and user manuals
