Senior Software Engineer - Local Server Systems

Kontakt.io develops software solutions that run both in the cloud and on-site on local servers to maintain safety-critical features even when connectivity to the cloud drops. The local server software bridges cloud and on-site devices such as tags and gateways, often deployed in hospitals where remote access is not available.

• Senior-level experience, ideally full-stack, with hands-on deployment and management of services in remote containers
• Proficiency with Python or Java (preference for Python)
• Working knowledge of both containers and VMware virtual machines
• Strong documentation skills
• Ability to operate with limited visibility and control over deployment environments

Nice to have:

• Hardware exposure (even hobbyist level)
• Experience with embedded or on-premises deployment patterns
• Basic SRE and networking knowledge
• Familiarity with AWS

• Build the Local Server as a bridge between cloud and on-site devices, replicating essential cloud logic locally to maintain offline safety-critical features
• Package the Local Server software as a container or VM based on customer requirements
• Implement strong self-reporting using logs and health metrics to enable remote diagnosis
• Write clear, detailed documentation for hospital IT staff to install and operate the software independently
• Coordinate with the cloud-side engineering team to maintain feature parity between online and offline systems
