Mid Software Engineer (Fullstack) - Smart Navigation

Allegro sp. z o.o. is an e-commerce platform based in Toruń, Poland. The team focuses on the Smart Navigation project, aiming to help customers quickly find products by processing offline data sets and presenting search result narrowing solutions. Allegro handles large scale infrastructure including over 1000 microservices, an open-source data bus (Hermes) with 300K+ requests per second, a Service Mesh serving over 1 million requests per second, tens of petabytes of data, and production machine learning.

• Solid experience in backend development, preferably using the JVM and Kotlin stack.
• Experience in frontend development with React and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in Polish (C1) and English (B2).
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with an AI open mindset.
• High learning agility, adaptability, flexibility, and strong communication and cooperation skills.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality code for backend (60% workload) and frontend (40% workload) services, APIs, and automation scripts.
• Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, UX designers, and engineers to refine requirements.
• Share knowledge and support junior engineers.
• Participate in a Software Engineer on-call rotation.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Debug and resolve software defects and issues.
