Senior QA Software Engineer, Networking

We are the System Ethernet QA Team at NVIDIA's R&D center responsible for the testing and qualification of virtual networking silicon (SimX) and software—from L2 forwarding and L3 routing to overlays, QoS, and security. The team uses the SimX platform to provide hardware-free, early access to ASICs for better debugging.

• Combined network engineering expertise with strong software development habits
• Over 5 years of QA or networking experience with CCNP-equivalent protocol knowledge including L2 (VLAN, STP), L3 (BGP, OSPF), EVPN, VXLAN, and features like PFC, ECN, RoCE, and QoS
• Production-quality Python engineering skills, strong OOP design, and experience with Pytest
• Proficient in Linux at LPIC-1 or LPIC-2 level for system internals, log analysis, and debugging
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar field

Nice to have:

• Experience with Docker and traffic generation tools (Ixia, TRex, Scapy)
• Hands-on test integration into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (KVM, VMware)

• Review architectural designs and requirements for new features introduced to the product
• Design, develop, and execute tests across functional, performance, and security scopes for software GA and update releases
• Develop Python automation suites based on clean OOP principles
• Investigate defects and validate fixes until root causes are resolved
• Use the SimX platform to validate code and debug ASICs prior to hardware arrival
