Software Engineer 2 (Java/Kotlin / Python) - Allegro Translations

Allegro Translations Services is powered by machine translations and continuous localization systems. The team collaborates closely with linguists and researchers to create customer experiences for various markets with significant growth potential. The team operates within the Allegro Tech ecosystem, which includes over 1000 microservices, an open-source data bus (Hermes) handling 300K+ requests per second, a Service Mesh with 1M+ requests per second, and production-used machine learning.

• Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Python with experience building backend systems.
• Proven experience with MongoDB, including migration and performance optimization at scale.
• Hands-on experience integrating and orchestrating AI services.
• Enthusiasm for AI and staying at the forefront of technical innovation.
• Ability to analyze technical implementation and translate business requirements into system designs.
• English language proficiency at least at B2 level.

• Code in Kotlin and/or Python to build robust backend systems.
• Migrate databases and optimize performance for large-scale datasets using MongoDB.
• Connect and orchestrate AI services to execute complex business logic.
• Drive technical implementation analysis for complex solutions, translating business requirements into clear system architectures.
• Participate in agile, autonomous teams with full ownership of microservices from design to deployment.
• Work with a modern cloud-native tech stack including Kafka and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate closely with linguists and researchers to enhance the translation platform.
