For one of the EU institutions, this role involves working within a Cloud product team responsible for AWS infrastructure and hybrid connectivity services, with extending scope to Microsoft Azure. The position requires collaboration with Cloud Architects, engineering teams, and infrastructure squads in a regulated or security-sensitive environment.

Wymagania

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, networking, cloud or related technical domains.
  • 3+ years of practical cloud infrastructure experience, preferably with AWS.
  • Significant experience with enterprise networking and BGP.
  • Practical exposure to hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Experience working with architects and senior engineers.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience using Git-based CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience in complex environments with multiple infrastructure teams.
  • Experience converting business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Experience reviewing technical designs and identifying risks or missing requirements.
  • Experience in large-scale, regulated or security-sensitive environments is highly desirable.
  • Cloud certification such as AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or Associate with substantial experience, or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
  • Advanced networking credential or equivalent expertise (e.g., CCNP Enterprise, ENARSI, ENCC, JNCIP, AWS Advanced Networking Specialty).
  • Practical production experience with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, BGP, and hybrid cloud networking.

Obowiązki

Product Ownership and Customer Interface:

  • Understand customer business and infrastructure requirements.
  • Translate requirements into product capabilities, epics, features, and actionable backlog items.
  • Establish clear acceptance criteria.
  • Clarify requirements before engineering work starts.
  • Prioritize backlog with the Customer Product Owner.
  • Identify technical prerequisites and external dependencies.
  • Ensure alignment of architecture and engineering activities with product priorities.
  • Communicate technical constraints, risks, and alternatives understandably.
  • Provide transparency about delivery status, risks, dependencies, and technical debt.

Architecture Challenge and Technical Governance:

  • Review and challenge proposed cloud and connectivity architectures.

Cloud Infrastructure:

  • Understand AWS Organizations, multi-account architectures, VPC design, subnets, routing tables, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN connectivity, PrivateLink, VPC endpoints, Route 53, DNS integration, Internet Gateway, NAT Gateway, Security Groups, Network ACLs, IAM concepts, availability zones, regional architectures, high availability, disaster recovery, cloud monitoring, logging, automation, and FinOps.

Networking and Hybrid Connectivity:

  • Engage with BGP routing policies with network architects.
  • Understand cloud interconnection models including AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Equinix Fabric, cloud exchange/interconnection services, colocation environments, and redundant connectivity.

Infrastructure as Code and Automation:

  • Review implementation approaches, challenge manual processes.
  • Understand GitLab repositories, Merge Requests, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Read Terraform plans and infrastructure changes.
  • Use NetBox as Source of Truth.
  • Understand IP Address Management, prefixes, VLANs, devices, interfaces, sites, tenants, inventory relationships, API-driven integrations.
  • Challenge manual configuration outside the Source of Truth.

Cross-Squad Coordination:

  • Coordinate requirements and dependencies with other technical products and squads.
  • Think end-to-end beyond Cloud squad boundaries.

Security, Resilience and Operational Readiness:

  • Challenge solutions from an operational perspective, ensure operability, observability, recoverability, and supportability in production.
