Middle / Senior Python Developer

We’re building a new analytics and risk platform called ACQA (Advanced Cloud Quantitative Analytics), a cloud-native platform with business-specific applications and services. The role is part of the ACQA Engines Crew within the Investment Banking Risk Technology stream, consisting of around 60 engineers across global locations working in agile pods. The team builds platforms and tools supporting the management of Risk and P&L across the investment bank.

• 4–8+ years of professional software development experience depending on level.
• Strong commercial experience with Python (mandatory).
• Professional experience in banking, financial services, investment banking, or fintech (mandatory).
• Strong software engineering background and mindset.
• Experience building reliable, scalable, and well-tested production software.
• Good understanding of software design principles and design patterns.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• Deep experience developing Python at scale with strong language ecosystem knowledge.
• Experience with Spark / PySpark and large, complex datasets.
• Experience with Java or Scala.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native systems.
• Knowledge of financial derivatives, pricing, risk, and P&L.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Exposure to AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with web-based technologies (not essential).

• Build platforms and tools supporting risk and profit & loss management in investment banking.
• Work in agile, autonomous pods collaborating with traders, risk managers, and finance users.
• Develop reliable, scalable, and well-tested production software.
• Collaborate in a highly skilled Agile team and share knowledge to help others develop.
