Firmware Engineer - hybrid (m/f/d)

Honeywell Building Automation focuses on software, hardware, and services to improve building safety, security, energy, and operational efficiency. The role is part of a 10-person delivery team working on the MB ecosystem of intrusion and access control products. Honeywell Technologies is a global automation company serving building, industrial, and process sectors with a portfolio underpinned by Honeywell Technologies Accelerator and Forge intelligence layers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software and firmware development.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, or Python programming languages.
• Extensive experience working in Linux and FreeRTOS environments.
• Ability to read schematics and interface with hardware.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in DevSecOps practices and platform design.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure software development methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain software and firmware solutions for intrusion and access control systems within the MB ecosystem.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define system requirements and deliver high-quality products on schedule.
• Implement secure coding practices and integrate security into every phase of the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
• Contribute to the architecture and platform design of embedded systems and related software environments.
• Perform code reviews, testing, debugging, and optimization to ensure reliability and performance.
• Document software designs, specifications, and procedures to facilitate team collaboration and future maintenance.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to security and access control solutions.
