Engineering Manager (Cloud & AI)

Nokia is a global leader in connectivity for the AI era, with expertise across fixed, mobile and transport networks, powered by Nokia Bell Labs. The role supports Mobile Infrastructure Services and is based in Wroclaw, Poland.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical field.
• At least 10 years of experience in R&D, software development, or technology leadership, with 3-5 years in leadership roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts, machine learning, and their application in software development.
• Demonstrated expertise in Software Architecture and Design.
• Proficient in programming languages: Python, Java.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding assistants such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot.
• Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps software development methodologies.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP and their AI/ML services.
• Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools.
• Experience in telecommunications or related high-tech industries.

• Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for cloud-native application development aligned with product strategy.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Guide architectural design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native applications using microservices, containers (e.g., Docker), and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Drive adoption of modern cloud technologies, tools, and methodologies including CI/CD, DevOps, GitOps, AI-powered development tools, and Low Code/No Code (LCNC) platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure applications meet requirements for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability in a cloud environment.
• Manage R&D budgets, resources, and project timelines effectively.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud-native development, AI, and LCNC, incorporating advancements into strategy.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week onsite at the Wrocław office.
