Java Backend Developer

The role is within the banking industry, focusing on developing Java-based applications for pension and savings products relating to taxation, account management, and investment processing.

• Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate)
• Experience with Java 21 and Spring Boot upgrades
• Proficiency in relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with messaging protocols such as JMS, MQ
• Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Knowledge of best practices in software development
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies

• Upgrade applications to at least Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.3.x, with experience in upgrade projects
• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications for savings and investment products
• Build robust calculation engines to ensure compliance with tax regulations across countries
• Develop support for complex business processes, integrating with tax authorities, and generating customer-facing reports
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Collaborate with financial analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions
