Senior Software Engineer

CloudFerro develops technologies used daily by European leaders in science and the space sector, including ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR, and EGI.

• Minimum 6 years of software development experience including system architecture design.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience in production backend services.
• Experience designing distributed and microservices-based systems.
• Practical knowledge of standards and protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, and JWT.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
• Good knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Capability to make conscious architectural decisions and discuss trade-offs.
• Independence and responsibility from idea to production system.
• Proficient English for working with technical documentation and international collaboration.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Java and Golang.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms.
• Understanding of RBAC, ABAC, policy engines, and fine-grained authorization models.
• Experience with MFA, SSO, service accounts, token management, and secrets management.
• Knowledge of RabbitMQ, Redis, and Prometheus/Grafana.
• Experience in designing IAM solutions for multi-cloud or large SaaS/PaaS/IaaS platforms.
• Practical knowledge of application and cloud security.
• Familiarity with OpenStack, including Keystone.

• Designing and developing IAM service architecture and backend components responsible for authentication, authorization, and identity and access management.
• Designing APIs and integrations between IAM services and other cloud platform components.
• Designing solutions for multi-tenant environments and large-scale systems.
• Collaborating with product managers to deliver business requirements.
• Creating prototypes and proof of concepts for new solutions.
• Developing existing code and implementing new components.
• Making architectural decisions considering security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Ensuring code quality through code reviews, automated tests, refactoring, and engineering best practices.
• Diagnosing complex issues at the intersection of applications, IAM, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborating with other technical teams.
• Creating and maintaining documentation and architectural standards.
