Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer (Freelance)

Mindrift operates the Tendem project, which focuses on specialized data scraping workflows for real-world use cases to support high-quality AI technologies by combining expert knowledge with AI development.

• At least 5+ years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields is a plus.
• Strong experience in Python web scraping using tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.
• Ability to extract data from complex structures including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.
• Solid skills in data cleaning, normalization, and validation with experience delivering structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).
• Experience handling anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker).
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain and OpenRouter applied to automation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Self-directed with ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency (B2) or above.

• Own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites, ensuring complete coverage, accuracy, and reliable delivery of structured datasets.
• Leverage available tools and custom workflows to accelerate data collection, validation, and task execution to meet requirements.
• Ensure reliable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, adapting methods for JavaScript-rendered content and site changes.
• Enforce data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting adherence, and systematic verification before delivery.
• Scale scraping operations using efficient batching or parallelization, monitor failures, and maintain stability against minor site structure changes.
