Technical Advisor

Altimi is a technology acceleration partner with over 20 years of experience, specializing in software development projects for international customers, primarily operating in the DACH region and Scandinavia. Their main competencies include Product & Application Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Security & Managed Services, and AI & Data Enablement.

• Around 10+ years of technical seniority with roles such as Software/Solution Architect, Principal Engineer, CTO, or Head of Engineering.
• Experience designing or auditing large business systems and evaluating architectural trade-offs.
• Practical experience in code review, technical due diligence, or accepting externally built systems.
• Documented experience with systems involving multiple APIs and external integrations.
• Experience with data migrations, legacy systems, poor data quality, and archiving.
• Understanding of CI/CD, environments, backups, observability, and basic cloud/infrastructure concepts.
• Good understanding of application security, authorization, access control, and data protection, with ability to identify needs for specialist audits or pentests.
• Experience assessing system transferability, documentation, repository setup, and vendor dependency.
• No financial or operational relationship with the vendor; willingness to challenge vendor recommendations.

Nice to have:

• Background in travel-tech, booking systems, hospitality, marketplaces, e-commerce, or B2B/B2C platforms.
• Experience with complex pricing rules, contracts, and numerous integrations.
• Practice reviewing systems built by external software houses.
• Experience supporting software development contract negotiations.
• Good communication skills in English or German.

• Review proposed architecture for business scale and MVP timeline, flagging unnecessary complexity or technical debt.
• Assess data model, module boundaries, and placement of business logic.
• Evaluate integration and data migration strategies from legacy systems.
• Define minimum standards for security, testing, logging, monitoring, and documentation.
• Review repository structure, access rules, and require feature branches, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Periodically review code quality and compliance with standards.
• Assess automated testing, CI/CD processes, deployment approach, rollback, and change control.
• Ensure continuous production of technical documentation.
• Assess APIs, synchronization, error handling, retries, message queues, versioning, and integration monitoring.
• Evaluate system resilience to external partner outages and data errors.
• Review migration strategy including export, cleanup, deduplication, partial migration, archiving, and validation.
• Check for vendor transferability without lock-in.
• Assess documentation of APIs, infrastructure, configuration, dependencies, and deployment scripts.
• Provide technical assessment of third-party components and licenses.
• Document risks and recommendations in writing.
