Data Scientist - Logistics AI & ML

The Delivery Experience (DEX) Data Science team at Allegro develops data-driven products focused on logistics process optimization, volume management, and delivery time prediction, utilizing Machine Learning, Operations Research optimization tools, Google Cloud Platform components, and advanced data analytics. The team builds core Artificial Intelligence systems to optimize delivery costs and network efficiency, including parcel lockers and courier operations. Collaboration with product, engineering, and operations teams is key to building AI/ML systems running in production environments.

• At least 2 years of experience building Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence solutions deployed in production.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML methods, especially decision tree-based algorithms, time series models, and neural networks.
• Proficient in Python and core AI/ML libraries: Pandas/Polars, Scikit-learn, CatBoost, Optuna, Prophet, PyTorch, and LangGraph.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL.
• Ability to translate business challenges into AI/ML problems using novel approaches.
• Polish (B2) and English (B2) language proficiency.
• Degree related to quantitative methods or statistical & mathematical modeling (e.g., Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Logistics).

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in workflow orchestration and AI platforms, including Airflow / Google Cloud Composer and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (Vertex AI).
• Familiarity with Operations Research concepts, Mathematical Optimization techniques (like MILP), and Graph Analytics.
• Experience with geospatial data and libraries such as GeoPandas and H3.

• Creating complex data models using machine learning, deep learning, time series forecasting, and survival models.
• Utilizing mathematical optimization techniques (such as MILP and OR-Tools) to solve logistics problems.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining core AI/ML systems in production environments.
• Processing, automating, and analyzing large datasets with Python and advanced SQL.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure availability, integrity, accuracy, and scalability of ML pipelines.
• Translating business challenges into AI/ML or optimization problems and testing novel approaches to minimize costs.
• Communicating insights and fostering knowledge sharing with various DEX stakeholders throughout AI/ML system lifecycles.
