Senior QA Automation Engineer

Roche Information Solutions (RIS) builds high-scale, cloud-native digital pathology platforms that support clinicians and patients globally, focusing on transforming healthcare through digital innovation.

• Minimum 7 years experience in QA automation with senior ownership of large test suites.
• Expertise in Java and modern design patterns applied to test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and solid knowledge of JUnit 5 for UI and API testing.
• Deep understanding of API test types and appropriate application.
• Knowledge of SOLID, DRY, and KISS coding principles for stable, reliable test codebases.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, especially with GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, and exposure to Angular and SSO/multitenant authentication.
• Experience in regulated domains like medical imaging, digital pathology, IVD, or clinical diagnostics preferred.
• Strong advocacy for high-quality code, clean architecture, and testing best practices.
• Fluent in English.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting complex test failures.
• Ability to take full ownership of test frameworks and quality strategies.
• Capacity to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative mind-set for distributed, agile teams.
• Nice to have: Experience with the broader Atlassian suite.

• Use AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, LLMs) to accelerate test script generation, test data synthesis, refactoring, and root-cause analysis of test failures.
• Leverage AI agents to automate routine tasks including converting specifications into automated test scenarios, test data generation, documentation, and PR descriptions.
• Apply prompt engineering to improve speed, coverage, and quality in production-ready test suites.
• Design maintainable, scalable test frameworks and structure multimodule suites in Maven.
• Execute Test Layering Strategy for UI and API test automation using Playwright and JUnit 5.
• Perform various API test types: contract, functional, integration, and smoke tests.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Utilize test reporting tools such as Allure or similar frameworks.
• Use version control and project management tools including Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Work with technologies including Angular and implement SSO/multitenant authentication.

Position requires co-location in Warsaw with hybrid work model averaging two days per week in office. Fluency in English is mandatory.
