[Akamai] Senior SRE

The Metadata Team is a part of Akamai's Platform Communications group. A cross-functional engineering team that develops the distributed systems and services that underpin Akamai's global network. The system supports fast and reliable configuration of Akamai's global network and control services for global content management.

• 5+ years' experience in Linux/Unix-like operating systems administration and a Bachelor's degree.
• Significant background in building and administering Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience in programming or scripting in any language, with bonus points for Python.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with capability to collaborate, communicate, prioritize, and solve problems.
• Significant background in performance analytics and optimization.
• Experience with Rest APIs and monitoring systems & applications for performance.
• Experience with database queries or big data technologies and writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience in configuring and managing PostgreSQL.

• Tune systems to optimize performance and write & maintain alerts to detect anomalies.
• Design and implement scalable systems ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
• Manage the rollout and activation of new features and platform changes.
• Develop monitoring tools and automate processes for better system scalability.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues, service incidents, and performance problems.
