Data Engineer with AI

• 5+ years experience in data engineering, AI engineering, analytics engineering, or cloud data platform delivery.
• Strong skills in SQL and Python.
• Experience with agentic development practices using AI agents and coding assistants.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks covering data modeling, semantic layer design, pipelines, and platform optimization.
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake Cortex components including Analyst, Search, Agents, LLM functions, and semantic models.
• Strong knowledge of Databricks Genie including data modeling, metadata, governance, and Unity Catalog for natural-language analytics.
• Deep understanding of semantic layer modeling, business metrics, KPIs, hierarchies, governed datasets, and AI-ready data products.
• Experience with data catalogues, metadata management, lineage, data ownership, business glossary, and data quality controls.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data including enterprise tables, documents, PDFs, SharePoint/Teams content, logs, and business metadata.
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake Warehouses and Databricks Clusters/SQL Warehouses related to sizing, workload isolation, autoscaling, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
• Experience with LLM model selection, cost optimization, including model evaluation, token usage, latency, context window, inference cost, and quality/cost trade-offs.
• Ability to assess and optimize LLM usage costs with token consumption, caching, prompt optimization, model routing, and cost monitoring.
• Practical experience with GenAI, AI agents, RAG, enterprise search, conversational analytics, or LLM-powered assistants.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, RBAC/RLS, masking, auditability, and secure enterprise data access.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical decisions to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in regulated enterprise environments prioritizing security, compliance, auditability, and governance.

• Develop and deliver data and AI products using agentic AI capabilities in Snowflake and Databricks.
• Perform data modeling, semantic layer design, and optimization of data platforms.
• Utilize AI agents and coding assistants for solution design, prototyping, code generation, testing, and deployment preparation.
• Manage Snowflake Cortex components including Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Cortex Agents, LLM functions, and semantic models.
• Work with Databricks Genie and related data modeling, metadata, governance, and Unity Catalog.
• Handle semantic layer modeling, business metrics, KPI definitions, hierarchies, and governed datasets.
• Manage data catalogues, metadata management, lineage, data ownership, business glossary, and data quality controls.
• Work with structured and unstructured data sources including enterprise tables, documents, PDFs, SharePoint/Teams content, logs, and business metadata.
• Optimize Snowflake Warehouses and Databricks Clusters/SQL Warehouses focusing on sizing, workload isolation, autoscaling, performance tuning, and cost.
• Assess and optimize LLM model selection and usage costs, including token consumption and caching strategies.
• Apply practical experience with GenAI, AI agents, RAG, enterprise search, conversational analytics, or LLM-powered assistants.
• Ensure strong data governance including RBAC/RLS, masking, auditability, and secure enterprise data access.
• Communicate technical decisions effectively to data engineers, architects, product owners, governance teams, and business users.
• Work in regulated enterprise environments ensuring security, compliance, auditability, and data governance.

Nice to have:

• Build embedded Streamlit applications on Snowflake or Databricks to expose AI agents, data products, validation tools, or workflows.
• Work with Snowflake Streamlit, Databricks Apps, or similar lightweight application frameworks.
• Use cloud-native AI / Agentic AI services like AWS SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, AWS AgentCore, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI or equivalents.
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen.
• Apply MLOps / LLMOps practices including MLflow, model registry, prompt versioning, evaluation pipelines, and monitoring.
• Integrate enterprise solutions like Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, CRM platforms, or workflow automation tools.
