Associate (Systematic Trading Strategies)

Effectiveness:

• Experience where a material decision was taken based on your analysis with knowledge of the outcome.
• Capacity to work effectively as the sole analyst and evidence of reaching a high standard in demanding work.
• Experience initiating substantial independent projects or research.
• Disposition to test assertions and exercise personal judgement without available guidance.
• Ability to become effective quickly in an unfamiliar domain.
• Intellectual honesty to report findings that contradict prior positions.
• Daily, substantive use of AI coding and research tools like Claude Code, Codex or Copilot with repeatable systems.

Problem Solving:

• Exceptional analytical ability to structure ambiguous problems and identify determining components.
• Rigorous empirical judgement with appropriate scepticism and discipline.

Communication:

• Excellent written and spoken English (C1) with ability to convey technical results to non-specialists.
• Ability to sustain and revise positions based on evidence.

Preferred:

• Three or more years in strategy consulting or a data-driven analytical field.
• Interest in financial markets and willingness to learn mechanics; direct market experience is not required.
• Degree with substantial quantitative content such as economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics or computer science.

• Develop new systematic strategies end to end, from initial hypothesis through data preparation, testing and validation to hand-off into live trading.
• Analyse trade-level data to establish where returns are generated and where they are lost.
• Quantify the expected impact of each finding to rank competing recommendations on a common basis.
• Turn agreed strategy logic into working code by directing AI coding assistants, and monitor deployed strategies for anomalies in execution and performance.
• Present findings, their quantified impact, associated risks, and recommended course of action.
