Senior Data & AI Engineer

Promise Group is a leading Microsoft partner in the CEE region, operating since 1991 and the largest provider of Microsoft solutions in Poland since 1996. The company offers products and services to various economic sectors including finance, telecommunications, media, energy, manufacturing, trade, services, public administration, education, and healthcare. Promise Group specializes in software licensing optimization, IT systems design, implementation, maintenance, and business application development.

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, BI, Data & Analytics, or similar technical roles.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Power BI, including semantic model design and data modelling (star schema, relationships, calculation groups, etc.).
• Strong DAX skills; comfortable writing complex measures beyond basic aggregations.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL.
• Working familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (lakehouses, pipelines, notebooks).
• Comfortable navigating a PySpark notebook and willing to read, adapt, and troubleshoot code.
• Hands-on experience developing Data Agents in Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience deploying AI solutions in a business or customer environment.
• Ability to understand business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Customer-oriented mindset: enjoy working directly with customers and focusing on creating business value.
• Strong sense of ownership and willingness to take responsibility for solutions and outcomes.
• Proactive approach: identify problems and opportunities and recommend solutions.
• Experience working in IT services or consulting environments.
• Experience in customer-facing roles and participating in presales activities.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good command of the English language (at least B2 level).

Nice to have:

• Hands-on PySpark development experience.
• Microsoft certifications related to Power BI, Fabric, Azure, or AI.
• Experience mentoring other engineers or taking technical leadership of solutions.

• Design and develop Data & AI solutions for customers.
• Work closely with customers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, recommending solutions, improvements, and new opportunities.
• Design, build, and maintain semantic models in Power BI, focusing on data modelling best practices.
• Develop advanced DAX measures and calculation logic for complex business reporting.
• Build and maintain high-quality, scalable Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Use SQL to analyse, transform, and prepare data for models.
• Work within Microsoft Fabric to support, extend, and troubleshoot BI solutions including lakehouses, dataflows, and pipelines.
• Use notebooks (PySpark / SQL) within Microsoft Fabric for light data transformations.
• Develop and work with Data Agents in Microsoft Fabric.
• Participate in development and deployment of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Architects, and other technical specialists.
• Participate in customer meetings and presales activities.
• Take ownership of technical solutions from design through implementation and deployment.
• Troubleshoot existing solutions and continuously seek improvements.
• Share knowledge and contribute to development of Data & AI best practices within the team.
• Support and mentor less experienced team members.
