At HSBC, the Cloud Operations Manager develops processes, standards, and technical capabilities enabling HSBC applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and Microsoft Azure to consume cloud service provider services securely and efficiently. The role involves leading a globally distributed, multi-skilled team of DevOps engineers with accountability for people management.
Wymagania
- Experience as an Operations Manager in an enterprise organisation
- Managed teams of at least 10 people
- Knowledge of Non-Functional Requirements
- Experience with CSP infrastructure build and configuration including Compute, Containers, Container OS and orchestration (e.g., Docker, COS, GKE), Storage, IAM, and SDN (VPC and XPN)
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and continuous testing tools
- Understanding of physical and software-defined networks
- Understanding of Identity and Access Management principles and tools
- Understanding of role-based access controls and organisational hierarchies
- Understanding of operating systems
- Understanding of container technologies
- Experience in a global, cross-functional service management team
- Experience dealing with multiple support groups in a supply chain
- Experience in an enterprise Financial Services company
- Strong customer and stakeholder focus with ability to build strong relationships
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills in an agile environment
- Focus on operational effectiveness aligned with security, risk, and regulatory standards
- Track record of continuous improvement and successful change implementation
- History of achieving challenging short-, medium-, and long-term goals
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Essential skills:
- AWS, GCP, and/or Azure certification(s)
- Technical operations management experience or equivalent
- People management including objective setting and performance reviews

- Knowledge of Non-Functional Requirements
- Experience dealing with IT Audit, Security, and Risk
- Experience working in a global enterprise team

Desirable skills:
- Professional certifications in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
- Technical knowledge in Directory Services, Google Identity, networking, firewalls, SDN, XPN, billing, operating systems, containers, and GCP resource hierarchy
- Experience in highly regulated industries such as Financial Services
Obowiązki
- Manage direct reports, including role definition, hiring, objective setting, performance reviews, and ratings
- Define and refine the scope of support provided by the Cloud Operations team
- Own management reporting against KPIs and SLAs and track progress against key initiatives
- Own and manage escalations
- Train and develop a globally distributed, highly technical team
- Ensure business continuity planning requirements for the platform meet business needs
- Ensure the cloud platforms meet the operational risk framework to manage business risk
- Ensure relevant architecture governance, policy, and standards are met
- Represent the platform teams in discussions with internal IT partners and Google, AWS, and Azure
- Maintain internal engineering knowledge bases and records of key implementation decisions
- Gather requirements and provide continuous feedback loops between customers and Operations teams
