Staff Backend Engineer, EMEA

• Proven technical leadership experience across multiple teams or broad product areas.
• Deep backend architecture expertise with production experience in complex applications and platforms.
• Experience modernizing monoliths or legacy backends toward modular architecture using bounded contexts, package encapsulation, ports and adapters, or equivalent.
• Strong ability to influence without formal authority through clear written proposals and decision records.
• Excellent product judgment balancing customer outcomes, delivery speed, and platform health.
• Experience mentoring engineers and shaping technical standards.
• Practical production experience with AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows.

• Lead the technical design and delivery of large backend initiatives that span multiple teams.
• Drive the modular backend, service, data, and platform architecture, modernizing legacy monoliths toward modular systems.
• Define and improve standards for APIs, schema evolution, testing, security, performance, observability, and operational readiness.
• Establish shared patterns for dependency management, eventing, failure isolation, and service maturity.
• Guide adoption of Go service patterns, Kubernetes operating practices, and Rust where applicable.
• Participate in on-call and incident response, providing technical escalation and architectural improvements.
• Mentor Senior and Intermediate engineers and manage technical debt.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted and agentic workflows with quality, security, privacy, and operational guardrails.
