Staff Software Engineer, Web (Angular)

Sprout Social is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join their Front-End Engineering team working with cross-functional teams including web, mobile, backend, and site reliability engineering, as well as Product and Design teams.

• 7+ years of experience planning, building, and releasing web applications using frontend technologies including Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript.
• Experience with agentic coding workflows (Claude Code/Codex/Cursor).
• Communication and project management skills collaborating across teams.

Preferred:

• Experience building web applications with Angular, RxJS, or similar web technologies.
• Experience as a full stack engineer.
• Experience with Node.js or Scala.
• Experience working in a large codebase.
• Experience building and/or maintaining an internal UI library.
• Business, Product, and user-oriented mindset.

• Write clean, performant, and maintainable code.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to other team members, including less experienced engineers.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, designers, and product managers, to deliver world class customer experiences.
• Participate in and conduct code reviews to maintain code quality, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Continuously improve the codebase by identifying areas for refactoring and optimization to enhance maintainability and scalability.

Growth milestones:

• Complete training and ship initial code changes with mentoring.
• Independently own and deliver frontend features.
• Contribute to team processes such as code review, estimation, specification planning, and retrospectives.
• Author technical specification plans for roadmap projects and mentor junior teammates.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
