Product Manager – Cloud Platform Provisioning & Persistence

Guidewire is a company focusing on cloud platform provisioning and persistence capabilities, working with products and applications related to cloud infrastructure automation with services like Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, DynamoDB, and caching capabilities. The role is part of the Guidewire Cloud Platform Product Management organization collaborating closely with Engineering, Outbound Product Management, and other stakeholders to deliver consistent and reliable platform capabilities. • Experience as a Product Manager owning technically sophisticated platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products.
• Strong ability to work with engineering teams translating complex technical problems into clear product requirements and execution plans.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and modern platform engineering concepts including APIs, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Ability to simplify complex infrastructure into consistent and usable platform abstractions.
• Familiarity with cloud persistence concepts such as relational and NoSQL databases, high availability, disaster recovery, upgrades, backups, and migrations.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate across engineering, architecture, SRE, operations, product, and field teams.
• Minimum 3 years of technically oriented Product Management experience with excellent English communication skills and relevant technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% as needed.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes-based internal developer platforms or infrastructure provisioning platforms.
• Familiarity with Open Application Model (OAM), KubeVela, Crossplane, or Kubernetes operators/controllers.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code technologies.
• Experience with AWS persistence services such as Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache/Redis.
• Experience with B2B SaaS or large-scale cloud platforms.
• Prior hands-on engineering or programming experience or experience with large-scale B2B cloud platforms.

• Own product definition, roadmap, priorities, and execution for cloud infrastructure provisioning and persistence capabilities across Guidewire Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with Engineering to deliver standardized, self-service platform capabilities for persistence services including provisioning, upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery, and failover.
• Drive discovery and solution design with engineers, architects, SREs, and platform consumers, translating infrastructure needs into clear product requirements, APIs, and abstractions.
• Balance developer flexibility with security, reliability, scalability, and operational consistency.
• Partner with application and platform teams, UX, Enablement, Support, Outbound Product Management, and other stakeholders to validate requirements and drive adoption.
• Track delivery, adoption, reliability, and product outcomes to continuously improve capabilities.
