Middle PHP (Laravel) Engineer

N-iX is a global software development service company founded in 2002 with over 2,400 professionals across 40+ countries. The company works on projects in cloud, data, AI/ML, embedded software, IoT, and serves industries like finance, manufacturing, telecom, and healthcare. The client is a global tax services and software provider specializing in business taxes, offering federal, state, local, and international tax services. The project involves developing a VAT recovery system to automate VAT specialists' tasks for customers in European countries.

• Minimum 3 years of commercial experience as a PHP/Laravel developer
• Experience working in the finance domain or education in finance is an advantage
• At least upper-intermediate English level
• Solid knowledge of PHP and the Laravel framework
• Confident knowledge of Object-Oriented Design principles
• Experience with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
• Experience working with YAML and XML documents and files
• Experience working with 3rd party APIs and web services
• Skilled in using Git or another version control system
• Good theoretical understanding of software development
• Experience working in an Agile (preferably SCRUM) environment
• Strong communication skills
• Team player, responsible, and hardworking

Nice to have:

• Good understanding of JavaScript (ES6, TypeScript), HTML and CSS
• Experience working in the finance domain or education in finance

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Contribute to the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
