Java Developer

co.brick is hiring a skilled Java Developer to join their team in Poland, focusing on building secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems. The company leverages modern frameworks and cloud technologies, particularly Google Cloud Platform, to develop innovative solutions. The position offers work from their modern office in Gliwice or remotely within Poland with minimal office visits.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java development and high-performance backend systems.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience designing microservices-based systems, including Event Sourcing and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform including Kubernetes and Compute Engine.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB.
• Experience with messaging systems like Pub/Sub.
• Experience with integration and workflow systems like Make or n8n.
• Strong understanding of OWASP standards, encryption, and secure coding.
• Ability to work autonomously delivering AI-enabled backend solutions.
• Effective communication in Polish and English (minimum B2 level).

Nice to have:

• Experience with Go language.

Backend Development:

• Build and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Java.
• Design and implement microservices architectures.
• Use frameworks such as Spring Boot or Micronaut.

Security Implementation:

• Apply best practices in secure coding ensuring compliance with OWASP standards.
• Regularly scan for vulnerabilities using tools like OWASP Dependency-Check and mitigate risks.

Cloud Integration:

• Deploy and optimize backend services on Google Cloud Platform using Kubernetes, Cloud Storage, and Compute Engine.
• Contribute to designing cloud-native, high-availability architectures.

Collaboration and Optimization:

• Work with frontend developers and system architects to deliver solutions.
• Enhance system performance for availability and fault tolerance.

Documentation:

• Produce documentation for system architecture, APIs, and security protocols.
